Wow, this CD came in a really cool silver package with neat graphics of scabrous crows and power lines and bare trees. It took me a full thirty seconds to realize that the music contained within said package was decidedly dull. Indeed, I was ultimately left with the impression that The Vores are collectively attempting to ward off a mid-life crisis by clinging tenaciously to membership in a band with no real insight or energy. Every song chugs along in a mid-paced groove, with unfortunately rhymed lyrics (“I just see red/I see it on your head/I see you lying dead”). The Vores are a competent bar band, but nothing more. For real thrills, they might consider starting a precision lawn tractor team. (KB)
