“It is hard to exist and not feel some sort of joy,” Phil writes in this meditative zine. But one gets the sense that Phil is not so convinced. In his comic Happy vs. Grumpy the insanely glad Happy seems to win by consuming Grumpy altogether. A metaphor? An insight into Phil’s mental makeup? Well, we have enough of those, thank you very much. Phil tells us how he feels about aliens, horoscopes, and AC vs. windows down when driving in the car. Phil’s poems seem to be either nonsense rhyme stuff for children, or depressing screeds about how fucked up the world is. When Phil was a child, he ate cat food and told made up stories to his felines. (Hal Niedzviecki)
