While a tabloid, this really comes across as a union local newsletter that deals with big issues in an accessible, somewhat informal way. The newsletter does include news of strikes, but also provides information on pension plans, announcements of staff retirements and a major piece on organized labour’s opposition to the Iraqi war. It is not as strident as some union papers nor is it a PR piece for a union bureaucracy. Rather, it is an unusual example of a union paper that reflects the needs and interests of its members. (BB)
