It’s a good idea. A group of like-minded people get together to form a collective, where they “share ideas, experiences, knowledge and resources–working at creating a beautiful, active and supportive community.” That goes pretty well, so they decide to put together a zine expressing some of their ideas, experiences, knowledge and resources as a collective effort. And there’s no reason in the world why they shouldn’t. Sure, you’ve heard a lot of the ideas before, maybe expressed a little more coherently, with better spelling; that doesn’t mean they don’t bear repeating. People getting together to write about things that are important to them is good. And it’s also good that you’re not obliged to read the result. (Wendy Banks)
